Making a Good First Impression – Prepare the Front of Your Home if you are Trying to Sell it
If you are planning to sell your house, then one of the biggest things that can help you is making sure that you make the right first impression on people who are coming to view it. People form an impression of something really quickly, and if they like the look of it right from the start then this bodes well for being able to sell it quickly and for a good price.
As well as making sure that the inside of your home is all clean and ready for viewings, you should also make sure that the front of your home, which is the part that they will see when they first arrive, is also looking the best it can. Here are some things that you can do to make sure that you are making the best first impression…
First of all, you should do some general maintenance. Anything that is broken or a bit worse for wear should be repaired or replaced. Look for the things that are on the front of your home, like the box that your electric meter is in for example. If it is a bit old and damaged, you can replace it with something more modern like this electric meter box https://www.meterbox.co.uk/
Don’t forget to look up at the roof and to the gutters too – if they are damaged get them repaired, and also make sure that they are not blocked or leaking.
Make sure that everything is neat and tidy. Shrubs and plants should be cut back and if you have a path or a drive, clear away any weeds that have sprouted up. If you have a front lawn, make sure that it is mowed. You could wash dirt away with a pressure washer too, as throughout the winter especially dirt and other debris can build up on a path or a driveway.
Plants and ornaments can help make your home look better – use solar stake lights to illuminate a path for example, and you can use plants in pots to brighten up the front of the property and make it look more homely. In the summer, make sure that you keep them well watered, so they aren’t all dried out and dead.
